We’ve Built It – Van Tray Prototypes Are Now in Testing

James Staines |

Real-world solutions for tradespeople, built from scratch and now on test drives

After weeks of sketching, designing, and feedback from trusted pros, we’re excited to announce that our van and workshop storage holders are now in prototype testing. Images included are prototypes made in plastic. Full items to me manufactured in aluminium light weight and strong.

This isn’t theory anymore — it’s happening.

🛠️ What We've Built

Our holders are designed for everyday consumables that most tradespeople rely on — but often struggle to store cleanly and access quickly. We're talking about:

  • UltraGrime Wipes

  • Orange nitrile gloves

  • Decorator’s caulk & silicone tubes

  • Cleaning sprays, sanding rolls, masking tape and more

Each tray is built with real-life installation in mind, meaning they're:

  • Screw-mountable to van racking or workshop panels or even the wife’s kitchen unit.

  • Stackable side to side or top and bottom.
  • Made from durable but lightweight materials including aluminium

  • Shaped for quick access and easy visibility

  • Designed in multiple versions to suit any setup.

  • Available as combo trays for grouped consumables (e.g., grime wipes + caulk)

🔍 What We’re Testing

We will distribute early prototypes to a handful of trusted tradespeople. Some of those who have filled out the form. There will be testing the holders in actual working environments — fitted inside vans, on-site stations, and busy workshops. We’re will be collecting feedback on:

  • Mounting strength and tray stability

  • Ease of access while wearing gloves

  • Fitment with common brands and packaging

  • How well the trays stand up to dust, knocks, and constant use

🎨 Colour & Branding Decisions

While testing is underway, we’re finalising the branding and colour options. We've had requests for neutral greys, industrial blacks, and even trade-specific colours (blue for electricians, green for plumbers, etc.), also power tool brand colours.

We’ll soon open up polls for colour selection and early access sales.

We’re thrilled by the response so far and will be sharing more photos, videos, and tester feedback as it comes in.

If you’d like to be part of future testing rounds or have something you’d love to see stored better — comment below or get in touch.
